I bet you had no idea that today is World Emoji Day. The truth is, I didn't either. A friend clued us in last week.
Emojis are small digital images or icons that are used to express an idea or emotion. They were actually born in the late 1990's in a Japanese research facility. A mobile phone provider in Japan was the first entity to allow users to add pictures to commonly used emotions to their text messages.
I came across a few ideas so you can celebrate Emoji Day.
1. Start the day off with some delicious Emoji Waffles.
I just used strawberries and Nutella to make my creation. Kids will love waking up to this for breakfast.
2. For lunch or dinner, make Emoji Pizzas.
Kids will have fun designing their own Emoji on a frozen cheese mini-pizza. Have different toppings available for them to add to their pizza.
3. Have fun with an Emoji craft made from paper plates.
I purchased yellow paper plates which are perfect for kids to make their own Emojis. Give the option of using construction paper or crayons for their emojis.
I hope you enjoy World Emoji Day!
To celebrate, I'm joining a few friends for a fun raffle with six different Emoji prizes. Just drop by my Facebook page to join the fun. Just click HERE.
